Training & Events
Spearheaded by Military & Medical veterans, we develop, conduct, and promote “Training & Treatment” programs for Medical Humanitarians. Instructors consist of Special Forces veterans, top surgeons, physicians and HCPs, Statesmen, filmmakers and other professionals. We will host conferences and other events and can provide the following training opportunities: We specialize in custom programs and offer scheduled training at one of our host facilities in the U.S. or overseas. Cadre can also provide training at a location of choice or through Mobile Training Teams (MTT) with instructors deploying with your team.
Jungle Medical Civic Action Program · The Mosquito Coast, Nicaragua
From the luxurious Rio Indio Lodge in Nicaragua, Special Forces veterans and Rama Indians teach survival skills and provide mission appropriate gear for jungle environments. A seasoned multidisciplinary cadre of medical veterans from around the world teaches the basics of how to plan and conduct missions in Austere Environments. This 5-day I4-night program culminates into a real-world Mobile Medical Civic Action Program (MEDCAP) for Nicaraguans and Rama People living in remote areas and at the local clinic along the river.
Austere Medical Program (AMP) · Unconventional Surgical Immersion Course (USIC)
A live-tissue, scenario based, humanitarian training program for austere envi ronments instructed by a cadre of Special Forces veterans, surgeons and other HCPs experienced in Humanitarian Assistance & Disaster Relief (HA/DR) operations. Leadership and complex problem solving while managing self and team, maintaining personal security and performing medical and camp tasks arc emphasized throughout this three-day and night training scenario. Partici pants are actively engaged in scenarios and must manage traumatic victim injuries in field environments with limited supplies.
Direct Action Resource Center (DARC) · Mission Leaders Course
This 4-day / 4-night leadership course at a Special Operations training facility in Arkansas teaches the fundamentals of planning and leading medical missions in the U.S. & Developing World. Participants learn to successfully conduct humanitarian medical missions in Austere and Insecure Environments (IE). Individual and team safety, Mobility Operations and logistics will be covered with a culminating exercise incorporated into the training.
SpecOps Outdoor Skills & Survival · Training for Medical Humanitarians
Special Operations veterans train Medical Humanitarians to “hit the ground running” prepared to deliver adequate medical and surgical care while taking care of self and team without external help. Programs are developed and conducted by Special Forces veteran and television survival host Mykel Hawke and teach basic to advanced skills complimentary to other sponsored medical programs. Courses will be available in the Texas Hill Country beginning in 2013.
